State of the pup(s) May 2018
May. 24th, 2018 09:35 amMy first State of the Pup(s) post. Here goes!
State of the Me:
Touch and go. I'm still caring for my disabled mother around the clock (my phone goes off 5 times a day for her various meds), but she's improving and I'm less overwhelmed on good days. On bad ones, I don't have the stamina to finish everything. But the good days are getting more frequent, and I've even found it much easier to write. I've been drinking St.John's Wort tea each day which has cleared up the mild depression nicely, although I still get triggered occasionally with panic attacks. This week has been a rough one- lots of triggers, too much extroverting, bad weather, migraines... There's a massive "Take Care of Yourself" sign over my head that I try to heed but... I'm not very good at this, no, I'm not... I do have my meditation and yoga routines in place, which help too.

I took one of those personality tests, and they had this to illustrate my weaknesses (INFJ). So if you imagine this man is a short, curvy woman, that's the gist. D: I'm often scrambling to tend to my mom, do the dishes, laundry (by hand bc we don't have laundry facilities :/ ), cook, and clean, take out the garbage/recycling, and somehow find time to take care of myself too. If the anxiety or depression hits, I'm out for the count.
Anduin

He now has a second job: he's still working at the community centre, and he is now a supernatural investigator which... pleases me so much. It suits him. I'm so glad this came about. He has been doing his "in the wrong place at the right time" thing, walking down the street and into a vampire attack in progress, or bumping into Sam Winchester trying to bind ghosts in a parking lot on the way home from a rummage sale. Now he can go pro with it. ^_^ At the community centre, he's still teaching meditation and is in the process of re-establishing a community garden to provide fresh food for Darrow's poor.
He greatly misses his friends who have disappeared. Word did reach him early on about how people sometimes disappear from Darrow without warning, and that presumably this means they have been returned to wherever they came from. This softens the blow somewhat because he's not worried about them. He lost so many all at once, though, that he's become lonely again.

Plots:
Musical Plot: Anduin has just been spotted by Sweet and his minions. It's still ongoing. I'm enjoying it a lot since I get to be as silly as I want, and write lyrics which is even better.

Faery War: I conducted a Twitter poll re: whether or not Anduin would be kidnapped by the Queen of the Faeries and the result was, of course, 'yes.' I haven't done anything with this plot yet, though, so if anyone needs someone to be kidnapped from a pocket dimension into another, different pocket dimension... just let me know? Otherwise, I imagine Anduin would be trying to end the war ASAP, so if there's any negotiations in the works he could be tagged in.
Wish Upon a Star: I...forgot about this plot. He could wish for a any number of things. His long-standing hope in Darrow has been to escape back into Azeroth so he can be with his people. I don't think a simple "I want to go home" would necessarily be interesting here. Darrow has been such a *home* for him; he's so happy here, and it lets him be and do things he never could in his old life. But he knows he *should* be in Stormwind, leading his people, that he is needed and he's just enjoying himself in a pocket dimension instead.
Future:
I will be applying for a canon update, probably in June. A new novel, Before the Storm, is coming out and I have been informed that he'd want to know the contents. Considering how settled his life is in Darrow, his second year is going to be... different. In general, I want Anduin to get involved in more of the larger plots in Darrow, and make some new friends since many of his High Fantasy Club friends have gone home to their books.
Queue:
Hua Mulan, of course, and lit prof!Shadrazad. I'm still wanting someone else from the Warcraft universe but I can't decide who to bring over.
In conclusion: please come plot with Anduin. He's very nice and needs some new friends. Thank you. :)
